Nankoweap ruins, room 4 door upperside 9/16/2015, showing little change since 1981. Remnants of wooden door lintels photographed in in 1981 from a different angle, are unchanged since 1981, preserved by weather protection in the alcove, dry climate, and being within masonry. Woooden lintels are mostly construction aids. The stonework corbling over the top of the opening, though not uniform, has provided enduring support. Grand Canyon National Park, © David A. Ponton
